Obituary of Doris A. Kramer

Wayland – Doris A. Kramer, 94 years of age, passed away early Tuesday morning at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home.

Doris was born March 22, 1923 in Naples the daughter of Lindsley and Amy (Bartholomew) Hubbard.  She grew up in Naples and graduated from Naples Central School.  Doris and Harry Kramer were married April 28, 1943 at St. Januarius Church in Naples.  Together they celebrated over 47 years of marriage prior to Harry passing away June 1, 1990.  After residing in East Springwater for a couple of years, they moved to Wayland and remained there until her move to Conesus Lake Nursing Home a couple years ago.  Doris worked at the Naples 5 and 10 store for a couple years in her younger years and then worked at the Moore-Cottrell Subscription Agency in N. Her hobbies throughout the years were many.  During her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing; playing the harmonica and French horn; listening to songs on the radio and at the end of the day making up a story based on the song titles.  She loved to play cards and other board games; going on countryside drives; crocheting; cooking; and reading.  Word searches were a favorite past time as well.  Doris also enjoyed travelling to Mississippi during the winter to visit her family there.  The years she was able to do that made her very happy.  Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were also very special times for her.

Doris was pre-deceased by her mother and step-father, Amy and Walter Wood; her father, Lindsley Hubbard; her husband Harry Kramer; her sister Carolyn Lord; and her sons-in law, Larry Forsythe and C. Jack Wraight.  She is survived by her children, Rosalie Forsythe of Wayland, Bonita Szymanski and her husband, David of Olive Branch, MS and Larry Kramer and his wife, Marlene of Livonia; her grandchildren, Tammy (Timothy) Schubmehl of Wayland, Todd (Jill) Forsythe of Wayland, Teri (TJ) Cotter of Wayland; Sonya (Scott) Lageman of Olive Branch, MS, Krista (John) Creel of Somerville, TN, Seth Kramer (Nikki LoBello) of Henrietta and Leah Kramer (David Bayer) of Portland, ME; her great-grandchildren, Nora, Dane, Mia, Kyleigh, Aydan, Brogan, Landon, Benjamin, AnnaBelle, Nicholas,  and Ezra; her brother, Robert (Lorane) Hubbard of Freedom, NY; her sister-in-law Teresa Spencer of Rochester; along with several nieces and nephews.
