Obituary of Anthony J. Conrad Jr.

Perkinsville – Tok, Alaska – Anthony J. “Tony” Conrad Jr., 89 years of age, passed away Thursday January 23, 2025 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Tony was born June 16, 1935 in Perkinsville, NY the son of Anthony J. Sr. and Mary (Kuhn) Conrad. He grew up in and resided his early years in the Perkinsville/Wayland areas. Tony and Janice Herington married on February 4, 1956 at Sacred Heart Church in Perkinsville and together celebrated over 58 years of marriage. Tony and Jan resided in Wayland together and then moved to Craig, CO for a number of years. In the early 1970’s they moved to Tok, Alaska where they resided together until Jan passed away in February of 2015. Tony remained in Tok until his passing. Throughout the years Tony’s employment spanned different areas. He was a carpenter, small engine repairman, a Stihl dealer and big game guide. He enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing, trapping and shooting. He was a past Fire Chief of the Tok Volunteer Fire Department and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Tony was pre-deceased by his parents Anthony Sr. and Mary Conrad; his wife, Janice Conrad; his sons, Joseph, Charles and Anthony III Conrad; his siblings, David Conrad Sr., John “Jack” Conrad, Alice Merkel and Jeannette McKee. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Conrad of Tok, AK; his sons, John Conrad of Anchorage, AK, Bryce Conrad of Tok, AK and Tim (Sabrina) Conrad of Wasilla, AK; his grandchildren, Josh Rallo, Jacob and Kayla Conrad, Carter Clayton and Grant Conrad, and Charlotte Conrad; his brother, James Conrad; his sister, Helen Milton, Anita Pragle, Rosie Maher, Dottie Sick, Ann Wheaton and Mary (Jim) Williams; along with many nieces and nephews. Tony’s family and friends may call Monday February 3, 2025 from 5-7pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday February 4, 2025 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church, Perkinsville. Military honors and interment will take place immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Perkinsville. Contributions in memory of Anthony J.
