Obituary of Lorraine S. Elam
Naples – Lorraine Sue (Schenk) Elam, 62 years of age, passed away late September 21, 2025 at her home in Naples, after a brave battle with cancer.
Lorraine was born June 20, 1963 in Naples the daughter of Larry and Marie (Pettis) Schenk. She grew up in Naples, attended Naples High School and remained a life resident of that area. Lorraine’s family was everything to her and being a homemaker was when she was the happiest. Spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy. Other hobbies of Lorraine’s were sewing, gardening, cooking, camping and she had a love of animals.
Lorraine was pre-deceased by her mother, Marie Schenk, her brother Daniel Schenk and her ex-husband but also her best friend, Lewis “Donny” Woodard. Lorraine is survived by her 4 children, Joshua (Gabrielle Quenell) Woodard of Lima, David Weart, Justin Elam and Brian (Morgan Barnard) Elam all of Naples; her daughter in law, Ashley Woodard Simons of Avon; her 5 wonderful grandchildren, Owen Woodard, Liam Woodard, Kira Woodard, Amelia Braley all of Avon and Gavin Woodard of Lima; her father, Larry Schenk; her sister, Shelia (Terry) McGovern, her brother David (Gail) Schenk all of Naples; her ex-husband David Elam of Rochester; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private celebration of life will take place later and at the convenience of her family. Contributions in memory of Lorraine S. Elam may be made to the Ontario County Humane Society, 2976 Co Rd 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
