Obituary of Jennifer Jane Welch

Wayland – Jennifer Jane Welch, 53 years of age, passed away early Monday morning, September 29, 2025 at the Larue Home in Wayland. Jennifer was born May 22, 1972 in Warsaw, NY the daughter of Gene and Wendy (Ritz) Welch. For the first 25 years of her life she lived with her family in Avon, NY. Jennifer attended Mary Cariola Children’s Center for the majority of her first 21 years. In 1997, Jennifer moved to the North Maple Group Home in Warsaw, NY where she lived for 26 years, attending the Silver Lake Day Treatment Program in Perry, NY. In 2023, Jennifer moved to the Larue Group Home in Wayland, NY and attended the Dogwood Day Treatment Program in Dansville, NY. Jennifer was a gift to all who knew her. She brought out the best in people as they loved and cared for her. Her spirit was gentle and her smiles were priceless. Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of Jennifer. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Gene (Wendy) Welch of Canandaigua; her brother, Jeffrey (Julie) Welch of CA; her sisters, Briana Welch of Farmington and Stefanie Welch of Avon; her nieces and nephews, Emma, Calvin, Jack, Caris and Riley; aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to name. Jennifer’s family wishes to thank everyone who has been a part of Jennifer’s life. Through Jennifer, we came to know wonderful people who cared for, loved, and supported us all along the way. Of special mention are all the dedicated caregivers and staff at Larue, Dogwood, the former North Maple IRA, Silver Lake, and Mary Cariola Children’s Center. Jennifer’s family, friends and caregivers are invited to her memorial service on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at 10:30 am at Dogwood Day Treatment, 311 Main St., Dansville, NY. Private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua.
