Obituary of Alice Dudley Swick
Wayland – Scottsville – Valrico, Florida – Alice Dudley Swick, 91 years of age, passed away Wednesday December 3, 2025 at Brookdale Nursing Facility in Sarasota, FL.
Alice was born in Wayland, the daughter of George and Clara (Recktenwald) Dudley. She grew up in Wayland and graduated from Wayland Central School. She then graduated from Rochester Business Institute.
Alice and Richard Swick were married January 9, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Church in Wayland. Together they celebrated over 52 years of marriage prior to Richard passing away in February of 2012. Alice and Richard resided in Rochester, Scottsville and in 1978 they moved to Florida and she has remained there ever since.
Early on Alice worked at Kodak, however most of her life was making a home for her husband and daughter, Mary. Alice enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and outdoor activities. She was an avid volunteer for Meals on Wheels and various church groups.
Alice was pre-deceased by her parents, George and Clara Dudley; her husband, Richard Swick; her siblings and their spouses, Frances and Earl Doane, Charles and Helen Dudley and G.Harold and Eleanor Dudley; and a nephew, Michael Dudley. She is survived by her daughter Mary (Tom) Schoff of Sarasota, FL; her brother James (Janice) Dudley of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Alice’s family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at a time to be determined and updated when finalized.
