Obituary of Alice S. Camillo
Cohocton – Rochester - Alice S. Camillo, 93 years of age, passed away early Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, in Rochester after a brief illness.
Alice was born in Cohocton July 7, 1932 the daughter of William and Mae (Bill) Schlick. She grew up in Cohocton and graduated from Cohocton Central School. Soon after graduation, Alice worked for Moore Cottrell and then Westinghouse. However she wanted to move from the area and found out Taylor Instruments was hiring in Rochester. Alice and a girlfriend applied and she began her career there. She moved to Rochester in her early 20’s and never moved back. Alice and George Camillo met and began their life journey together. They wed on June 27, 1959 and were together 43 years prior to George passing away in April of 2002.
Alice and George loved travelling. Every year they would go to a different country or different part of the United States. Some of her favorites being Alaska, Germany and Italy. She loved reading, gardening and quilting; especially personal size hand sewn quilts. Her independent nature allowed her to live in her home until her passing. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity to her family and friends.
