Obituary of Mary Kay Holley
“SEEK THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING”
Cohocton – Mary Kay Holley, 65 years of age, passed away Thursday afternoon February 5, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Mary Kay was born April 4, 1960 in Hornell the daughter of James and Katharine (Yohonn) Crossett. She grew up in Loon Lake/Wayland area and was a 1978 graduate of Wayland Central School. Mary Kay moved from Cohocton in the mid 1990's where she lived with her partner, Steven Holley, for over 30 years. They were married on September 25, 2010.
Mary Kay's employment was spent mostly with Nutrien Ag Solutions. She worked in the Cohocton, Avon and Pittsford offices for over 40 years, retiring January 1st of this year.
Mary Kay's hobbies were many. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, singing for the Waylandaires and volunteering with the St. Jude Bike A Thon every year. She was a faithful communicant of Holy Family Catholic Community attending services regularly. She was an AVID Buffalo Bills fan and she loved her dogs! However it was her family she cherished most. She loved them all, was loved by them all and will be dearly missed.
Mary Kay was pre-deceased by her father, James H. Crossett Jr.; her brother, Mark Crossett; and her sister in law, Linda Lamphila. She is survived by her husband, Steve Holley of Cohocton; her children, David Gould of Cleveland, OH, April Gould of Rochester and Ben Gould of Cohocton; her mother, Katharine Crossett of Wayland; her step-children, Jeff (Kelly) Holley of Livonia, Shane Holley of FL and Brook (David) Baumgartner of Rochester; her grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Allison and Sam; her siblings, John (Patti) Crossett of Wayland and Linda (Jim) Wallace of Wayland; her brothers and sisters in law, Jim (Kathy) Holley of FL, John (Lisa) Holley of MT, Ken (Tina) Holley of NC, Carol (Ed) Kainen of NV, Janet (Roger) Roman of Ithaca, and Lloyd Lamphila of Ithaca; many nieces and nephews; and we can't forget her dogs, Milo and Kida.
Mary Kay's family and friends may call Thursday February 12, 2026 from 4-7pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 13, 2026 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church, Perkinsville.
Contributions in memory of Mary Kay Holley may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
