Obituary of Delores Woodhams

Wayland – Delores Woodhams, 88 years of age, passed away early Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2026 at Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Delores was born September 5, 1937 in Springwater the daughter of Fred and Carolyn (Winter) Johnson. She grew up in Springwater but has resided most of her life in Wayland. She was a 1954 graduate of Wayland Central School and throughout the years she worked at Birdseye, Westinghouse and the Gunlocke Compnay in Wayland. She retired from Gunlocke after 28 years. Delores and Donald Woodhams Jr. wed on July 2, 1955 and together they celebrated over 44 years of marriage prior to Don passing away May 19, 2000. Delores loved painting ceramics, reading books, putting together puzzles and traveling. She has been to all but 7 states of the United States. Delores was pre-deceased by her parents, Fred and Carolyn Johnson; her husband, Donald Woodhams, Jr.; infants, Donna and John; and a son, Bill Woodhams. She is survived by her son Jim Woodhams of Wayland; her grandson, Michael P. Woodhams of SC; her great-grandchildren, Emily (Nathan) Platt and Erica; her half brothers, Tom (Bertha) Johnson of AL and Larry Johnson of AL; several step brothers and sisters; along with several nieces and nephews. Delores's family and friends may call Wednesday February 18, 2026 from 4-6pmat St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Delores's funeral service will be Thursday February 19, 2026 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Wayland Village Cemetery.
