Obituary of Doreen A. Long

Rochester – Doreen A. Long, 93 years of age, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 22, 2026 at the Monroe Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Rochester. Doreen was born November 25, 1932 in Rochester the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Scott) Long. She grew up in Rochester graduated from Charlotte High School, earned her bachelor's degree from SUNY Brockport and then her Master's Degree in Art from RIT. Doreen lived almost her entire life in the Hilton and Rochester areas. In 2020 she moved to Cohocton with her daughter and then moved back to Rochester in 2024. Doreen loved painting! She was a gifted and creative artist. She also loved to watch sports. The Buffalo Bills were her favorite football team and she also was an avid basketball, tennis and golf fan. Doreen watched General Hospital faithfully and and enjoyed playing Mahjong and Kanasta along with other games. Doreen was pre-deceased by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Long. She is survived by her children, Diane (Lewis) Fleming of Cohocton, Don (April) Crumrine of Washington Depot, CT and Tracey (Jeff) Weller of Brockport; her grandchildren, Tara (Mark), Melanie (Dano), Tabor, Alana, Linden, Aydan (Roujia), Matthew (Kelley), Kevin and Henry (Violet); 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; her twin sister, Donna Long-Buckles of Canandaigua; along with several nieces and nephews. Doreen's family and friends are invited to her funeral service Saturday March 28th, 2026 at 11am at Faith Fellowship Church, 5630 Pebble Beach Road, Lakeville, NY. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery private and at the convenience of her family.
