Obituary of Walter Drabek

Wellsville – Wayland – Hornell – Walter Drabek, 66 years of age, passed away early Friday morning, March 27, 2026 at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. Walter was bon February 11, 1960 in Sanborn, NY the son of Henry and Eleanor (O’Connor) Drabek. Walter resided in Hornell for many years, Wayland for several years and finally his move to Wellsville a couple years ago. As a resident of Steuben County ARC, Walter worked as the Sheltered Workshop in Bath. Walter loved the Buffalo Bills, WWE Wrestling and western movies. He was an avid bowler and swimmer and competed in the Special Olympics for both. Walter also loved parties, coloring, Friday night dinners at JC’s with the guys and visiting the firemen at the Hornell Fire Department. And of course, Walter loved his naps! Walter is pre-deceased by his parents; Henry and Eleanor Drabek; his brother Fredrick Drabek Sr; and other siblings. He is survived by family William Drabek; his friends at JC’s and the Hornell Fire Dept; and all his friends and staff at Steuben County ARC. Walter’s funeral service will be Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 11am at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Interment will take place privately at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Lewiston, NY.
