Obituary of Margaret Huber

Perkinsville / Wayland – Margaret Huber, 90 years of age, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 28, 2014 at the Livingston County Healthcare Facility in Mt. Morris. Margaret was born July 28th, 1924 in Rose, NY the daughter of August and Mathilde (Nagler) Motsch. She grew up in the Rochester area for a few years and in Germany for a few years. In the mid 1940’s she moved back to the Rochester area and on July 5th, 1948 Margaret and James Huber were married at Sacred Heart Church in Perkinsville. Together they celebrated over 46 years of marriage prior to James passing away in January of 1995. Margaret and James resided in Perkinsville their entire time together and in 2001 she moved to Wayland. Margaret was employed at Kodak for a few years and at the Owens Publishing Company in Dansville. Mostly though she was a homemaker for her family and she especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren during their younger years. Margaret also enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens. Margaret was pre-deceased by her parents, August and Mathilde Motsch; her husband James Huber; and a brother, Egon Motsch. She is survived by her children, Patricia Gross of Brighton, Michael Huber of N. Chili, Mary (Richard) Schoonover of Piffard and Diane (Paul) Wolcott of Cohocton; her grandchildren, Amy Gross (Chris Landgren), Richard (Jill) Schoonover II, Rebecca (Brian) Seaman, Andrew Schoonover, Ben (Kathy) Wolcott, Libby (Justin) Reed and Sarah Wolcott; her great-grandchildren, Noah Wolcott and Aubrey Margaret Reed; along with nieces and nephews. Margaret’s family and friends may call Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A prayer service will be offered at 10:15am at the funeral home on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Margaret at 11:00am Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Perkinsville. Committal prayers and internment will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
