Obituary of William M. Morgan Jr.

Springwater – William M. Morgan Jr., 72 years of age, passed away Thursday November 16, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Bill was born September 10, 1951 in Livonia the son of William M. Sr. and Vera (Bratcher) Morgan. He grew up in Livonia and graduated from Livonia Central School. Subsequent to high school, Bill joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country proudly. While in the Marines, he worked as a Harrier Jet Mechanic. Bill was honorably discharged from active duty September 28, 1974 and returned home to Livonia. Bill and Elaine Bailey were married in 1977 and together celebrated over 27 years together prior to Elaine passing away in 2004. Bill and Elaine resided most of their time together (over 20 years) in Irondequoit. Bill then built a home and moved to Springwater. He and Pat Willsea then began a relationship that has lasted many years. Bill worked at Kodak in Rochester as an electrical and electronics expert. He was very proud to have some of his technology on Mars. He retired in 2005 and has enjoyed his life in Springwater. Bill was an avid motorcycle rider, having rode to every state in the continental United States except two. He was a car enthusiast enjoying vintage cars and a Mustang that he and Pat took to many car shows. He loved helping Pat on her farm and fishing at their cottage on Honeoye Lake. Bill was very proud of his Marine Corps service and was active in many Veterans Organizations. He was a past commander, president and treasurer of the Springwater American Legion Post #905; a member of the USMC League in Naples; American Legion Post 905 Motorcycle Rider and a Patriot Guard member. He also helped out at the Springwater/Websters Crossing Historical Society. Simply put, Bill loved his “Country-Family-Friends.” Bill was pre-deceased by his parents, William Sr. and Vera Morgan; his wife Elaine Morgan; his siblings, Carol Tette, Marcia Metz and Marilyn Ellis. He is survived by his loving companion Pat Willsea of Springwater; his children, Eric Moore (Maryann VanderMallie) of Springwater and Patricia Morgan of Springwater; his brother Richard Morgan of Florida and sister Cheryl (Dale) VanKuren of Bloomfield; Pat’s family, children, Elizabeth Young of Springwater; and Alfred and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Jessica (James) Harmon and Jennifer Young; and great-grandchildren, Adrianna Robb, Sophia Young, and Sawyer and Parker Harmon.; along with many nieces and nephews. Bill’s family and friends may call Friday November 24, 2023 from 11am – 2pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Bill’s funeral service will be immediately following at 2pm at the funeral home. Committal prayers, military honors and interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Livonia.
