• People with fever, flu, cough, sore throat or other flu-like symptoms are not permitted to visit
  • Anyone that has tested positive, currently waiting on test results or thought to have contracted COVID-19 and have not been tested yet are not permitted to visit
  • People who have traveled to a high risk area for COVID-19 or had contact with a person known to be infected with COVID-19 are not permitted to visit

Funeral Guidelines during the COVID-19 Pandemic

The following guidelines have been established via communication with the NYS Funeral Directors Association per recent executive orders from the NYS Governor’s Office

  • Immediate family only allowed in the funeral home for a private viewing or ceremony

  • Immediate family only allowed in the cemetery for a private graveside ceremony

  • In order to accommodate large immediate families, St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home will communicate with each family the guidelines to be followed
  • ​Funeral services in any church at this time are highly discouraged and in most instances not allowed by the churches – future memorial services will be planned
  • It is the discretion of the Priest or Minister to attend the private family viewing or gathering at the funeral home or cemetery

  • When entering the funeral home:

    • Social distance at a minimum of six feet is required

    • Physical contact is not permitted

    • Use tissue or arm to cover any cough or sneeze

    • Wash hands before and after your visit to the funeral home
