Obituary of Michael A. Schneider

Cohocton – Michael A. Schneider, 64 years of age, passed away Tuesday December 20, 2016. Mike was born May 25, 1952 in Bath the son of Norman and Elizabeth I. (Allen) Schneider. He grew up in Cohocton and has remained a life resident of the Cohocton area. Mike was an auto body technician and was employed at B and B Auto in Cohocton for many many years. Mike’s hobbies were many as he enjoyed woodworking, working on compters, building and flying model airplanes and of late the drone industry peeked his curiosity. Mike also was a member of the War Dads of Ouderkirk/Cragg American Legion Post 805 in Cohocton. Mike was pre-deceased by his parents, Norman and Elizabeth Schneider; his siblings, Norene Lindsey, Anne Hamilton and John Schneider; his sisters and brothers in law; Adrienne Schneider, Albert Weber, Ken Reinard, Mike Hamilton, Vivian Schneider and DeMerle Wise. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Weber of Lockport, Frank Schneider of Cohocton, Kaye Wise of Cohocton, Dorothy Reinard of PA, Jean (Thomas) Recktenwald of Wayland, Jim (Leslie) Schneider of FL, Elaine (Jim) Davis of PA and Ed Schneider (Cassie) of Springwater; his sister in law, Eileen Schneider of Cohocton and brother in law Ronald (Dawn) Lindsey of Cohocton; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mike’s family and friends may call Thursday from 4-7pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10am at St. Pius Church in Cohocton. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at Old St. Pius Cemetery.
