Obituary of Jean D. McGuire

Wayland – Jean D. McGuire, 87 years of age, passed away early Thursday morning December 25, 2014 at Noyes Memorial Hospital. Jean was born March 18th, 1927 in West Decatur, PA the daughter of Roy and Vera (Lumadue) Fleck. She grew up in the Pennsylvania area and also lived in Baltimore, MD for a couple of years. However for most of her life though she resided in Wayland. Jean and Russell McGuire were married and celebrated several years together prior to Russell passing away in 1978. She was employed at different places throughout her life including several years at McElvey Motors in Wayland. Jean also enjoyed babysitting throughout the years which included taking care of and assisting families with their children. During her younger years, Jean enjoyed her flower gardens and for many years she has taken pleasure in reading and painting pictures. Jean was pre-deceased by her parents, Roy and Vera Fleck; her husband, Russell McGuire; and her son Terrence “Terry” McGuire. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Per) Halvorsen of St. Petersburg, FL, Gary McGuire of Oil City, PA, Carol Sick of Wayland, Joan (Dennis) King of Wayland, Kevin (Lynn) McGuire of St. Petersburg, FL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, William (Marjorie) Fleck of Buffalo, Robert (Sally) Fleck of PA, Roy “James” Fleck of PA; her sister, Erma “Sis” (Robert “Corky”) Botwright of PA; along with many nieces and nephews. Jean’s family and friends may call Friday Jan. 9, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00pm George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Her funeral service will be Saturday Jan. 10, 2015 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Jean D.
