Obituary of Michael P. Dudley

Wayland – Michael P. Dudley, 58 years of age, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. Michael was born November 29, 1958 in Wayland, the son of George Harold and Eleanor (Bunting) Dudley. Michael graduated in 1976 from Wayland Central School. He then graduated from Alfred Ag & Tech as a licensed court reporter. For 13 years, Michael operated his own company in Miami, Florida with the Dade County/Miami City Court system. In the mid 1990’s, he moved back to New York State. Michael enjoyed flying model helicopters, shooting all kinds of firearms and driving his pickup truck on the track at Watkins Glen. He also enjoyed watching the car races, especially the Dakar Rally. Michael often could be seen cycling around the village of Wayland, sharing his rides as a video feed on Facebook with his many friends. He was a member of the NCA Sports Club and the Wayland Historical Society. Michael was predeceased by his father, George Harold Dudley; his brother-in-law, Blaine Mehlenbacher; along with several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother Eleanor Dudley of Wayland; his sisters, Ann (Stephen) Dartt of Williamsburg, VA, Carol Mehlenbacher of Cohocton and Tina (Eric) Myren of Duvall, WA; his nieces Amanda Mehlenbacher of Alexandria, VA and Dr. Danielle Mehlenbacher (Chris Kibler) of Erie, PA; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael’s family and friends are invited to celebrate his life, Saturday March 11, 2017 at 2 pm at Simply Autumn Cafe and Restaurant, Main St., Wayland. Committal prayers and internment will take place at the convenience of his family at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wayland. Memorial donations may be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave., Wayland, NY 14572 or to a charity of your choice in Michael's memory.
