Obituary of Taylor Blair Kirin
Wayland-Taylor B. Kirin, 19 years of age, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 26, 2017 at her home in Wayland.
Taylor was born in Rochester June 25, 1997 the daughter of Stephen Kirin and Sandra (McCormick) Quinlan. She has been a resident of the Wayland area her entire life. Taylor was a graduate of Wayland-Cohocton High School and she also attended classes at Finger Lakes Community College.
Taylor had a zest for life. Regardless of the challenges Taylor encountered, she always looked at the bright side of every situation. She refused to be defined by the challenges of EB. Taylor’s independence, courage, tenacity, and love for life defined her as the young woman she became. Her mantra was “You were given this life because you are the only one strong enough to live it.”
Taylor had a wide range of passions. She was an accomplished painter whose works inspired others to see the beauty in life. Taylor had an affinity for cooking and the palate of a master chef. She also spent countless hours gardening. She enjoyed horseback riding in her earlier years. One of her many talents was her beautiful voice and she loved to sing. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays as she enjoyed selecting the “perfect” gifts for her family and friends, but her giving spirit was always ready and eager to help those in need.
Taylor was pre-deceased by her paternal grandfather, James Kirin. She is survived by her mother Sandi (John) Quinlan of Wayland, her father Steve (Wendy) Kirin of Naples, her sister’s Sarah and Paige; her grandparents, Jeanne Breen of Saranac Lake, Clarence McCormick of St. Augustine, Florida, and Sandra Kirin of Webster; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and very special long time caregivers, Karrie Prinzi and Lori Becker; along with many other care givers that have helped Taylor throughout the years.
Taylor’s family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass in her honor Friday at 2pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 206 Fremont Street, Wayland. In honor of Taylor’s giving and helpful spirit, those who wish may contribute to: Taylor’s Touch, c/o Five-Star Bank, South Main St., Wayland, NY 14572, a foundation set up to help members of the local community who are in need.
