Obituary of Donna Jean Springer

Honeoye – Springwater – Donna Jean Springer, 73 years of age, passed away early Monday morning, January 19, 2015 at her home in Honeoye. Donna was born July 5th, 1941 in Wayland the daughter of Lewy and Caroline (Schubmehl) Pragle. Throughout her life, she has resided in a few different areas including Henrietta, Springwater and for the last 25 years, Honeoye. Donna and Bill Springer were married April 21, 1990 in Caledonia and together have celebrated over 24 years of marriage. Donna loved Christmas and always had her house so beautiful with decorations and numerous Christmas trees. She enjoyed making floral arrangements, shopping and spending time in her swimming pool. Mostly though, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She touched the hearts of many with her love and her caring spirit. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Donna was pre-deceased by her parents, Lewy and Caroline Pragle; her brother, Wayne Kurelko and sister-in-law, Arlene Kurelko. Donna is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Springer of Honeoye; her children, Bonnie (John) Steff of Naples, Shelley(Brent) Quackenbush of Wayland, Becky Fox of Springwater and Colleen Springer of Naples; her grandchildren, Chelsea Steff (Jason) Huff, Hannah Steff, Taylor, Jordyn and Dillin Quackenbush and Brittany (Curtis) Minster; her great-grandchildren, Giana and Cecilia Huff and Liam Minster; her siblings, Richard (Cathy) Pragle of Livonia, Iva (Norbert) Johnson of Springwater and Charlotte Northrup of Springwater; along with several nieces and nephews. Donna’s family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland, NY 14572. A prayer service will be offered at 9:30am Saturday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Donna at 10:00am Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church in Wayland. Internment at Union Cemetery will be at a later time and date and at the convenience of her family.
