Obituary of Dorothy B. Van Caeseele

Cohocton – Dorothy Van Caeseel,91 years of age, passed away at Hornell Gardens on Wednesday September 27, 2017.  

Dorothy was born November 10, 1925 in Cheektowaga, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Zuchowska) Wawra.  She grew up in E. Rochester and Macedon and moved to the Cohocton area in 1970, residing there until her move to Hornell in 2014.  Dorothy and Ed Van Caeseele were married June 17 1948 in Tioga, PA and together they celebrated over 52 years of marriage prior to Ed passing away in April of 2001.  Dorothy and Ed owned and operated Van Caeseele Insurance Agency in Cohocton, Naples and Prattsburgh for many years.
  
Dorothy was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband Ed; and a son Jeffrey.  She is survived by her daughter, Shari (Norm Strawser) Hahn, her son Paul (Roxanne) Van Caeseele; 5 grandchildren, Eric, Rachel, Megan, Gretchen and  Paul; 4 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Peyton, Marley and Nathan; her sister Lucille LaClair; along with many nieces and nephews.   Dorothy’s family wishes to thank all the staff of Hornell Gardens for their care and kindness!!

Dorothy’s funeral service will be private and at the convenience of her family.
