Obituary of Dolores J. Pebbles

Wayland – Dolores J. “Dee” Pebbles, 82 years of age, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018 at Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

Dee was born June 1, 1935 in Mt. Morris, the daughter of Philip and Lillian (Barber) Levey.  She grew up in the Tuscarora / Nunda areas and was a 1952 graduate of Nunda Central School.  Dee and Donald Pebbles were married June 24, 1956 in Pennsylvania and together celebrated over 57 years of marriage prior to Don passing away May 24, 2014.  Dee and Don resided together in Wayland for the majority of their life together.  Dee was employed at Foster Wheeler Energy Company in Dansville as a secretary for a few years prior to becoming a legal secretary for Ed Gilroy, Attorney at Law and the law office of Sullivan and Leyden.

Her hobbies were many.  Dee enjoyed crossword puzzles; loved taking trips to the casino; baking; crocheting; and she was an avid Bingo player.  However it was spending time with her family and especially her grandsons that Dee enjoyed the most.  Watching them grow up and following them throughout their high school sports careers were memories she cherished.

Dee was pre-deceased by her parents, Philip and Lillian Levey; her husband, Don Pebbles; and her brother Walter Levey.  She is survived by her children, Kerry (Cathi) Pebbles of Wayland and Kevin (Janet) Pebbles of Wayland; her four grandsons, Kody (Elora) Pebbles of Rapid City, SD, Kyle (Megan) Pebbles of Norfolk, NY, and Sean and Dylan Pebbles of Rochester; her brother, Kenneth (Rita) Levy of Mt. Morris; her sister-in-law Vera Levy of Mt. Morris; along with several nieces, nephews and her dear friend and companion Della Ward.

Dee’s family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Saturday at 2pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland.  Reverend Osceola Wharton of the Wayland United Church of Christ will officiate.  Interment and committal prayers will immediately follow at the Village Cemetery in Wayland.  Contributions in memory of Delores J. “Dee” Pebbles may be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave., Wayland, NY 14572.
