Obituary of Eva M. Weis

Atlanta – Eva Jackson Weis, 67 years of age, passed away Sunday evening October 5th, 2014 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Eva was born October 27, 1946 in Bath the daughter of Earl and Eva (Putnam) Jackson. She grew up in Atlanta and has remained a life-long resident of that area. Eva retired a few years ago from production work at Kraft Foods in Avon and earlier in her life she worked for Lakeview Heights and Moore Cottrell. Eva and Robert Weis were married and together they had two daughters, Melody and Melinda. Eva enjoyed playing euchre, reading, crocheting and other crafts. She also loved to watch different shows on television, especially Maury Povich, Days of Our Lives, Jeopardy and many other game shows. Eva also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all her family. Eva was pre-deceased by her parents, Earl and Eva Jackson; her husband, Robert Weis in 1978; her daughter Melody Bill in 2005; her siblings, Mary Randall, Charles Jackson, Una Emonds, Earl Jackson Jr., Dimic Jackson, Fred Jackson, George Jackson, Frank “Dutch” Jackson, and Richard Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Richard) Sabins of Atlanta; her grandchildren, James Bill, Missy Bill, Chrissy Bill and Logan Sabins all of Atlanta; her siblings, Don Jackson of Penn Yann, Ruth (George) Merklinger of Florida and Jane (Robert) Peterson of Florida; along with several nieces and nephews. Eva’s family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Eva’s funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at the Wheaton Family Cemetery.
