Obituary of Jack A. Emerson

Wayland -  Jack A. Emerson, 89 years of age, passed away early Sunday morning June 10, 2018, at his home. 

 

Jack was born August 11, 1928 in Friendship, NY the son of Louis and Harriet (Moyer) Emerson. Jack and Helen Johantgen were married February 7, 1953 and together celebrated over 54 years of marriage prior to Helen passing away February 25, 2007.  He was an employee of Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation, retiring after 33 years. 

 

Jack was a social life member of the Perkinsville Fire Department; a member of the AMA, (American Motorcycle Association); a member of the Foster Wheeler 25 year club; a member of IAM (International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Worker); a founding member of the Conesus Lake Motorcycle Riders Club; a 25 year member of the Hornell Motorcycle Club; and a member of the Springwater American Legion Post #905 and the Springwater American Legion Post #905 Motorcycle Riders Club.

 

Jack was pre-deceased by his parents; a sister, Esther Witter; a brother, Eslie Emerson; his wife, Helen L. Emerson; and a son Joseph Louis Emerson; brother and sister-in-law, George and Nancy Emerson; his sister Sandra Petrillo;   He is survived by his companion of many years, Judy Jerome of Wayland; his daughter, Harriet (Russell) Paul of Livonia; his grandchildren, Rudley (Sarah) Emerson of Westbrook, ME and Kellylyn Paul of Dansville; his 7 year old great-grandchild, Tyler Emerson of Westbrook, ME; sisters  Gail (Sheldon) Boor of Dansville and Anna Jane Rought of Dade City, FL; his brothers in-law, Raymond (Carol) Johantgen Jr. of Dansville and Ardeen (Alice) Johantgen of Sparta; along with several nieces and nephews.

 

Jack’s family and friends may call Monday from 4-7pm at St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland.  His funeral service will be Tuesday at 10am at the funeral home.  Interment will be at HolyCross Cemetery in Dansville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Perkinsville Fire Department, PO Box 152, Perkinsville, NY 14529
