Obituary of Onnolee E. Henchen

Wayland – Cohocton – Naples -         Onnolee E. Henchen, 93 years of age, passed away early Wednesday morning September 26, 2018 at the Hornell Gardens where she had resided the past few years.

Onnolee was born November 1, 1924 in Wayland the daughter of Martin and Ruth (Jacobs) Shaver.   She grew up in Lima, NY and throughout her life she resided in other areas that included Wayland, Naples, Cohocton and most recently Hornell.  She was employed for many years at Moore-Cottrell Company in North Cohocton.  Onnolee and Fredrick Henchen were married October 18, 1958.  Throughout the years, Onnolee enjoyed sewing, playing cards with friends, puzzle books, and watching sports, especially football.

Onnolee was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband Fredrick Henchen and a grandson, Matthew.  She is survived by her children, Raymond (Linda) Tuttle of FL, Debbi (Ken) Burr of Dansville, Lorry (Elvin) Button of Wayland and Doug (Laura) Henchen of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her sister Ruthee Stone of Dansville; along with nieces and nephews.

Onnolee’s funeral service will be Saturday October 6, 2018 at 10am at Old St. Joseph’s Cemetery
