Obituary of Vivian Small

 

Rochester – Canandaigua – Vivian Small, 90 years of age passed away early Tuesday morning October 2, 2018 at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care facility in Canandaigua.

 

Vivian was born January 10, 1928 in Earlville the daughter of Lee and Marian (Gardner) Dutcher.  She grew up in and around the Eaton / Earlville areas and in 1957 moved to Rochester where she resided until her move to the Canandaigua area approximately 4 years ago.  Throughout the years, Vivian enjoyed working as a waitress at different restaurants, working for Friendly Homes in Rochester and at Topps Grocery Store.  Vivian enjoyed feeding all the neighborhood animals and she especially enjoyed her dogs.  Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was also a joy for Vivian. 

 

Vivian was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband Jack Small; her son-in-law William Freeman; and her brother Walt Dutcher.  She is survived by her children, Sandra (Winslow) Hicks of Naples, Marianne Freeman of Penfield and Mark Small of Rochester; her grandchildren, Patrick (Tammie) Hicks, Eric (Jennifer) Hicks, Melanie (Michael) Dillon, William (Amanda) Freeman, Joe Small and Jennifer (Jeremy) Pike; her 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; her brother Nigel Dutcher; along with nieces and nephews.  A "special thank you!" to the many caregivers from Lakeview Avenue at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.  

 

Vivian’s family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 2pm at Eaton Village Cemetery in Eaton, NY.   Contirbuions in memory of Vivian Small may be made to Lollipop Farms, 99 Victor Rd, Fairport, NY 14450.
