Obituary of David R. Lee

Shelton, CT – David R. Lee, 82 years of age, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday October 3, 2018 at the Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

David was born November 1, 1935 in Syracuse the son of George and Ruth (Smith) Lee.  He grew up in Pompei, NY, Gorham, Victor and graduated high school from Clifton Springs High School.  David was a graduate of Bob Jones University with a degree in Mathematics.  He then served his country in the United States Air Force from August 2, 1956 until his honorable discharge August 1, 1960.  His duty included reconnaissance and photography while in the Air Force.  Subsequent to his discharge, David resided in Greenville, SC for 22 years, South Bend, IN for a period of time and eventually settled in the CT area for many years.  David was a computer specialist and worked for the IBM “Think Tank!”   He was  very handy in both carpentry and mechanics as he built an addition on their house and worked on the family vehicles. 

David was pre-deceased by his parents, George and Ruth Lee; an infant son; a daughter, Adina Lee; and a nephew, Mark Belanger.  David is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Simko of CT; his daughters, Mishal (Timothy) Malvaso of Redding, CT and Prisca (Maran) Sady of Meggett, SC; his grandchildren, Alysia F., Felicity Y., Timothy Alex, Anthony Colin Malvaso, Shannon M. and Eric B. Sady; his sister, Donna Powell (Gary) Belanger of Wayland and his brother, Richard (Karen) Powell of VT; along with several nieces and nephews. 

David’s family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Monday October 8, 2018 at 10am at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland.  Committal prayers, military honors and interment will take place immediately following at Ashley Cemetery in Springwater.  Contributions in memory of David R.
