Obituary of Harold G. Englert

Springwater – Dansville – Harold G. “Louie” Englert, 93 years of age, passed away early Thursday morning at the Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, Florida. 

 

Louie was born July 13, 1925 in Ossian the son of Henry and Mae (Robinson) Englert.  He grew up in and around the Springwater area and resided there for most of his life.  He also lived in Dansville for several years prior to moving Florida a few years ago.  Louie’s employment career was mostly spent at Delco / GM in Rochester retiring from there many years ago.  Louie and Marian Byrnes were married in 1947 and together celebrated 41years of marriage prior to Marian passing away in July of 1988.  Louie and Kathalene “Nadine” Brokaw were married in 1989 and together celebrated 17 years of marriage prior to Nadine passing away in December of 2006. 

 

Louie loved his old cars; especially a 1970’s Ford Truck and his Corvette that he drove until he was 90.  He took meticulous care of them!  He also enjoyed attending car shows and collecting coins.  Louie loved Florida as he wintered there for well over 30 years and permanently moved there a few years ago. 

 

Louie was pre-deceased by his parents; his first wife, Marian Englert; his second wife, Kathalene “Nadine” Englert; his daughter Patricia Englert Bowers; his brothers, Merton Englert and Eugene “Pete” Englert; and his sister Arlene Grouse.  He is survived by his granddaughter, Pamela (John P. Jr.) Linfoot of Geneseo; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Englert of Springwater; several nieces and nephews; and Nadine’s children and their families,  Dianne Talmadge of Lima and David (Bonnie) Pragle of Wayland. 

 

Louie’s family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday March 9, 2019 at 11am at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland.
