Obituary of Naomi J. Lindsey

Cohocton – Naomi Jean Lindsey, 55 years of age, went home to be with Jesus her Savior after serious complications took her life Sunday February 24, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

 

Naomi was born March 20, 1963 in Burlington, VT the daughter of Raymond and Paulita (Izor) Travis.  Her father’s military commitment led to their family residing several different areas during her early life and finally settling in Canaseraga.  Naomi was a member of the Canaseraga Central School graduating class of 1981.  Her employment career was mostly spent at Kraft Foods in Avon, recently retiring as a supervisor after many years working there. 

 

Naomi and Mark Lindsey were married August 29, 1987 in Cohocton and they started their life together and had three wonderful boys, Travis, Troy and Austin “Hoobie!”  Naomi was a member of the Cohocton American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, enjoyed playing darts, going to yard sales, and she especially loved decorating her home.   She was the “coordinator” of parties and would often proclaim “SOCIAL!!”  Naomi truly lived life to the fullest and was very loving and kind to everyone she met.  She made everyone she came in contact with feel the most important to her.  

 

Naomi was pre-deceased by her parents, Raymond and Paulita Travis; and her brother, Raymond G. “Kippy” Travis III.  She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mark Lindsey; her sons, Travis Lindsey, Troy Lindsey and Austin “Hoobie” (Liz) Lindsey; her father and mother in law, Ron and Dawn Lindsey; her siblings,  Tanya (Chuck) Morris of Canaseraga,  Aneysa (Todd) Fowler of Bloomfield, Paul (Gail) Travis of Corning, William (Laurie) Travis of Canaseraga,  Anatasha (Greg) Kinsgland, of Buffalo; her sisters and brothers in law, Tina (Dave “Putter” ) Levesque of Cohocton and Jen (James) Kieliszek of Rochester; uncles and aunts, Rod and Mary Lindsey of Cohocton, Bruce Lindsey of Florida and Judy Lindsey of LoonLake; along with many nieces and nephews. 

 

Naomi’s family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday March 2nd, 2019 at 11am at St. Pius Church, 35 Maple Ave., Cohocton, NY.  Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Pius Cemetery in Cohocton.  Contributions in memory of Naomi J. Lindsey may be made to the Cohocton Valley Ambulance Service, PO Box 262, Cohocton, NY 14826.
