Obituary of Wilma E. Gibson

Wayland – Wilma E. Gibson, 92 years of age, passed away Monday afternoon December 16, 2019 at the Continuing Care Center at FF Thompson in Canandaigua. 

Wilma was born September 3, 1927 in Cohocton the daughter of Daniel and Fanny (Stryker) Fairbrother.  She was the spouse of Clarence Gibson who passed away in February of 1998. 

Wilma was pre-deceased by her parents, husband and several siblings.  She is survived by her children, Susan Gibson of Naples, James (Karen) Gibson of Wayland, Nancy Gibson of Ft. Myers, FL and Julie Gibson of Bath; her grandchildren, David Gibson of Charlotte, NC and Russel (Neysha) Gibson of Wayland; her great grand-daughter, Naava; Wilma was one of twelve children and her surviving siblings are, Glen (Donna) Fairbrother of Atlanta, Geraldine Bolster of Geneseo and Donna Flint of GA; several brothers and sisters in law; along with many nieces, nephews; and the family of Maurice and Joyce Guerrette.    

Wilma’s funeral service will be private and at the convenience of her family.  Contributions in memory of Wilma E. Gibson may be made to the E.J. Cottrell Memorial Library, 30 W. Main St., Atlanta, NY 14808.
