Obituary of Daniel Blake

Dansville – Springwater – Daniel Blake, 82 years of age, passed away Friday morning, April 17, 2020 at The Hurlbut in Rochester where he had resided for several years. Daniel was born in Fillmore, NY February 26, 1938. Daniel and Gloria McKenna were married May 4, 1957 and together celebrated over 59 years of marriage prior to Gloria passing away in July of 2016. Daniel was self-employed selling all sorts of merchandise at different areas throughout his life. Over the years he resided in Short Track, Dalton, Loedie, Rochester, Websters Crossing, Dansville, Florida, Pennsylvania, Springwater and finally in Rochester. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved going to flea markets. Daniel was pre-deceased by his parents; his wife, Gloria Blake; his grand-daughter, Amanda Carey; his daughter Edith Blake; and 2 sons in laws, Dave Shannon and Jim Palmer. He is survived by his children, Louise Weidman of Webster, Patricia Barber of Wayland, Joan Shannon of NC, Jean Palmer of S. Dansville and Sue Demler of NC; along with 3 generations of grandchildren. Daniel’s funeral service will be announced at a later date.
