Obituary of Dennis R. King

Wayland – Dennis R. King, 76 years of age, passed away late Tuesday evening at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Dennis was born November 22, 1944 in Utica, NY the son of Robert E. and Margaret (Smith) King. He grew up in Orchard Park, NY and moved to Wayland in 1971 and has remained there since. Dennis graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation for over 40 years, retiring as a Project Engineer. Dennis and Joan McGuire were married June 26, 1971 and together have celebrated over 49 years of marriage. Dennis’s hobbies were many. He enjoyed swimming in his younger years; watching football; all kinds of outdoor work including gardening, yard work and he loved to decorate his home with festive lights! He would tinker around with just about anything along with building and creating all kinds of different things. Dennis was pre-deceased by his parents, Robert and Margaret King. He is survived by his wife, Joan King of Wayland; his daughter, Wendy (Shawn) Wambold of Wayland and his son Aaron King of Spencerport; his grandchildren, Kristen, Brayden, Ethan and Addison; his sister Susan (Barry) Weeks of Groton, MA; along with nieces and nephews.
