Obituary of Wanda L. Schrader

Wayland – Wanda L. Schrader, 73 years of age, passed away Monday March 1, 2021 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. Wanda was born October 1, 1947 in Island Falls, ME the daughter of Milford and Eunice (Carr) Caron. Wanda grew up in Wayland and remained a resident of that area until 1995 when she moved to Florida and then to Kentucky. In 2018 Wanda moved back to Wayland and has remained there since. Wanda’s employment career spanned many different areas and companies throughout the years that included; Moore-Cottrell; Bausch and Lomb; Suburban Propane; Real-Estate; Home Health Care; and most recently retired as the General Manager of the Cracker Barrel in Shelbyville, KY. Her hobbies were many! Wanda loved to play cards especially Euchre and Scat. Wanda was an avid sports fan that enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, Syracuse Orangemen and the Atlanta Braves. However one of her greatest joys was watching her children and grandchildren grow up and play sports throughout the years. Wanda was pre-deceased by her mother, Eunice Recktenwald; her father Milford (Gladys) Caron; her brother Dean Caron; and her father and mother in law, Robert and Mildred Schrader. She is survived by her children, Jill (David) Conrad of Wayland, Renae (Michael) Giancursio of Macedon, Bob (Michelle) Schrader of Victor, Matt (Athena) Schrader of KY and Brett (Carol) Schrader of Lima; her step-father Eugene Recktenwald; her former husband Claude Schrader; her grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew), Megan (Brandon), Madison, Christopher, Sarah, Jessica, John, Lauren, Kate, Alexis, Makayla, Tori, Alexander and Greyson; her siblings, David (Carolyn) Caron of Wayland, Bonnie Nardone of Rochester, Janet Snyder of Brighton, Glenn (Chris) Caron of FL, Tammy Baker (Robbie Sharp) of Wayland and Geno Recktenwald (Donnette Wager) of SC; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Due to the ongoing restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, Wanda’s funeral service will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Wanda at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions in Wanda L. Schrader’s memory may be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave., Wayland, NY 14572.
