Obituary of Henry E. Sick

Wayland / Horseheads – Henry E. Sick, formerly of the Wayland area and currently of Horseheads, 77 years of age, passed away early Sunday evening May 24th, 2015 at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira. Henry was born January 23, 1938 in Wayland the son of Richard and Dorothy Sick. He grew up in Wayland and resided there for over 50 years. For the past several years, he has resided in many different areas that included, Watkins Glen, Elmira, Canisteo and for the past several years, Horseheads. Henry enjoyed fishing throughout the years, however his passion was travelling. He enjoyed many vacations over the years that included, Hawaii, an Alaskan cruise, Branson, MO, San Antonio, TX and Dollywood, the Dolly Parton theme park in Great Smoky Mountains, TN. Country music was also a love of Henry’s. His family describes Henry as “kind, gentle, always with a smile and he loved life!” Henry was pre-deceased in life by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Sick. He is survived by many cousins; and his great friend, Terry Clark, whom both he and Henry referred to each other as their “brother!” Henry’s family and friends may call Thursday from 5:00-8:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. His funeral service will take place Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home. The Reverend Keith Campbell will officiate. Committal prayers and internment will take place immediately following at Mapleview Cemetery in Cohocton. Memorial contributions in Henry E.
