Obituary of Vicki Sue Harter

Wayland – Vicki Sue Harter, 69 years of age, passed away early Friday morning August 6, 2021 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Vicki was born August 6, 1952 in Hornell the daughter of Harry and Delores (Faucett) Milliman. She grew up in Wayland and has remained a life-long resident of the area. Vicki retired from the Gunlocke Company after working there for over 43 years! Vicki and Bill Tonkery were married and together celebrated over 32 years of marriage prior to Bill passing away. Vicki and Fred Harter began a companionship and were married May 25, 2002. She loved to spend time in the garage, relax outside and wave to everyone that drove by. Her hobbies were many; she loved to collect dolls; paint; work with her flowers; go to yard sales and go out to dinner. Vicki loved to travel all over the United States, especially to Yellowstone, New Orleans and the Adirondack Mountains. She always kept an eye on her family and will be dearly missed by all> Vicki was pre-deceased by her parents; her first husband Bill Tonkery and a brother Lance Milliman. She is survived by her husband Fred Harter of Wayland; her siblings, Sheryl (Mark) Gascon of Canadice, Shawn (Ethel) Milliman of Richburg; Becky (Tom) Murphy of Honeoye; her in-laws, Frank “Woodchuck” (Kathy) Harter of Wayland and Edith Stout of Poughkeepsie; along with many nieces and nephews. Vicki’s family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday August 13, 2021 from 12-2pm at Fred and Vicki’s home in Wayland. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Contributions in memory of Vicki Sue Harter may be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave., Wayland, NY 14572 or to the Perkinsville Fire Department, PO Box 152, Perkinsville, NY 14529.
