Obituary of Dr. Patrick Francis Tersigni

Wayland – Dr. Patrick Francis Tersigni, 83 years of age, passed away Saturday evening, December 4, 2021 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Patrick was a man of faith in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Patrick was born October 26, 1938 in Easton, PA and graduated from Belvidere High School in New Jersey. He graduated from two Ivy League Colleges - Cornell University in 1961 and became a Veterinary Medical Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania in 1965. Dr. Tersigni owned and operated his own practice for 12 years in New Jersey, then when he moved to Wayland in 1977, he continued his practice for an additional 44 years. He was a devoted and faithful veterinarian to his clients and worked on over 100,000 animals throughout his career. Pat’s hobbies were many! He enjoyed working on his farm, doing firewood, working on projects, hunting, fishing, and checking his deer cameras often. He was a true cowboy at heart who enjoyed camping and trail rides with his horses and taking his family and grandchildren on many 4-wheeler and golf cart rides around his farm. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his Amish friends, telling jokes and was an avid storyteller. He excelled in the kitchen enjoying good company and meals with family and friends. He was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and was proud to be a Conservative Republican. One of the most important passions in his life was quality time with his family but especially in caring for and providing for his wife Sandy for over 23 years. Dr. Tersigni was pre-deceased by his parents, Harry Enrico Tersigni, Dorothy (Ricketts) Pullizano; his sister, Joan C. Frankenfield; and a grandson, Gabriel Lee Tersigni. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Tersigni of Wayland; his children, Billy (Lynn) Tersigni, daughter Shawn (Mark) Claborn, Lance Tersigni, Dallas Tersigni (Laura Nightingale), and daughter Jessica (Brian) Schaffer; his grandchildren Jennifer Holley (Mauricio Romero), Taylor Tersigni, Alex Tersigni and Annabelle Tersigni, Greyson Nightingale, Lillian Schaffer, Ella Mae Schaffer, Pearl Schaffer and Isaiah Schaffer, Samantha Tersigni, Amanda Tersigni, and Jesse Tersigni. Also, his great-grandchildren Dominic Larkin, Elizabeth Larkin, and Giovani Romero; his brother, Allan (Elizabeth) Schaarschmidt; along with many well-loved extended family members and friends. Dr. Patrick F. Tersigni’s family and friends may call Monday December 13, 2021 from 4-7pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. His funeral service will be Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Perkinsville.
