Emile Plourde III

Obituary of Emile Joseph Plourde III

Prattsburgh – Emile Joseph Plourde III, “Joe Jeep” 69 years of age, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, NY. Joe was born December 3, 1952 in Longview, WA the son of Emile J. II and Anastasia (Smith) Plourde. He was a resident of Prattsburgh for the last 36 years, and a resident of Naples from 1977-1985. Joe and Robin were married on May 10, 1975 in Oxford, MA. Joe had many passions and was a master of all trades. He had magic in his fingers and could fix anything he touched. Joe had a true passion for cars, to say the least. He could put his hand on an engine and feel its heartbeat. New or old, he knew just what they needed to run their best. He loved mentoring (oftentimes with the patience of a saint) and sharing his knowledge with anyone interested in learning. Over and above his friends and family, Joe was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Joe loved his family fiercely, always putting them first and making sure they knew they were loved by him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and especially loved cookouts, bonfires, playing horseshoes and golf carting. Joe also enjoyed dirt track racing, bird watching, berry picking and joke telling. He loved music and could change the lyrics to any song when dancing. Joe was always full of life and kept a positive attitude. He had a huge heart for all of God's creatures, was fascinated by Mother Nature’s beauty and was grateful for her gifts, especially snow! The memories of Joe will live on in the hearts of many as he is missed dearly by those closest to him. Joe was pre-deceased by his parents, Emile J.II and Anastasia Plourde; 3 sons, Eric A. Plourde, EJ Plourde (Emile J. IV) and David Plourde; and several of his dearest friends. He is survived by his wife Robin Plourde of Prattsburgh; his daughters, Lisa Johnson-Ritchey (David) of Charlotte, NC, Michele Wallace (Jamie) of Huntersville, NC and Holly Plourde of Prattsburgh; his grandchildren, Felicity Fortier of Southbridge, MA, Bruin Johnson of Charlotte, NC and Allie Wallace of Huntersville, NC; and many close friends he considered family. Joe's celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
