Obituary of Marjorie L. Nowatzki

Wayland – Marjorie L. Nowatzki, 84 years of age, passed away Saturday May 28, 2022 at the Livingston County Center of Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. Marge was born October 31, 1937 in Dansville the daughter the LeGrand and Lavina (Pike) Witherell. She grew up in Dansville and was a graduate of Dansville Central School. She resided in North Carolina for a couple years, however the majority of her life she lived in Wayland. Marge owned and operated her own beauty shop in Wayland for over 50 years. Marge and Raymond Nowatzki were married April 7, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Church in Perry and together celebrated over 58 years together prior to Raymond passing away in January of 2015. Marge’s hobbies were many throughout the years. She was a majorette in high school and took pride in her athleticism; she played violin in local minstrel shows, sang in the church choir and enjoyed musicals. Marge bowled, crafted with ceramics and was an avid animal lover. However, “Team Mom” was her favorite! She was very proud of her 4 children and involved herself in all their extracurricular activities and passions. Marge assisted in coaching and attended all of their sporting events, recitals and performances. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed by her family. Marge was pre-deceased by her parents, LeGrand and Lavina Witherell; her husband, Raymond Nowatzki; her son Michael Nowatzki; her brothers, Robert and Donald Witherell; her sisters, Luella Ciotti, Thelma Polmanteer and Doris Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Nowatzki (Roger DiIorio) of St. Augustine, FL, Susanne Nowatzki (Rob Sailer) of Pittsford and Jennifer (Bill) Jerome of Dansville; her daughter-in-law Shelly Nowatzki of Wayland; her grandchildren, Michael Nowatzki (Alexis Evershed) of Lima, Kathleen (Doug) Shanley of Wayland and Briley and Adalynn Jerome of Dansville; her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Douglas III, Jesse, Kameren, Emmitt and Abigayle; her sisters, Barbara (Keith) Wilcox of Dansville and Gloria Norton of Dansville; along with several nieces and nephews. Marge’s family and friends are invited to her funeral service on Friday June 3, 2022 at 2pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Her service will also be live streamed using the following link https://youtu.be/vUooKgX7NPE Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wayland.
