Obituary of Raymond J. Thielges Jr.

Perkinsville – Raymond J. Thielges Jr, 79 years of age, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 3, 2022 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Ray was born December 11, 1942 in Patchinsville the son of Raymond J. Sr. and Pauline (Schirmer) Thielges. He was a 1961 graduate of Wayland Central School and has remained a resident of the Wayland and Perkinsville areas his entire life. Ray followed his father’s path and was employed at the Wayland Highway Department for 38 years. Ray and Paula Kiefer were married February 23, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Church and together celebrated over 46 years of marriage prior to Paula passing away March 23, 2009. Throughout the years he was a member of the Perkinsville Fire Department (life member), the Perkinsville Rod-n-Gun Club, Wayland Rod-n-Gun Club, NCA Club in Atlanta, Dansville Moose Club, the Wayland American Legion and St. Joseph’s Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening in his younger years. He enjoyed going for rides, loved visits from his grand and great grandchildren and was a very good story teller. Ray was pre-deceased by his parents, Ray Sr. and Pauline Thielges; his wife, Paula Thielges; his sister Rita Bowers; and his sister and brother in law, Shirley and Joseph “Puss” O’Neal. He is survived by his children, Raymond III (Vicki) Thielges of Perkinsville, Lisa (John) Cady of Wayland, Karl (Christine) Thielges of Wayland and Susanne (Todd) Wyman of Fairport; his grandchildren, Jessica (Pat)McCallum of Wayland, Raymond IV (Breana) Thielges of Wayland, Jacob (Allison)Hendershot of Howard, Andrea (Brad) Miller of SC, Jordan (Scott) Mulvaney of Conesus, Tyler (Lauren) Thielges of Wayland, Taylor Morse of AZ, Hailey Dewey (Kenney) of Spencerport and Hannah Dewey (Chelsea) of Spencerport; his great-granchildren, Mia, Carli, Chase, Corbin and Luke; his brother Francis Thielges of Wayland; his in-laws, Dean and Irene Kiefer of Cohocton; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray’s family and friends may call Sunday August 7, 2022 at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home from 1-4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ray, Monday August 8, 2022 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Church in Wayland. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Raymond J.
