Obituary of Samuel D. Bradford Sr.

Dansville – Samuel D. Bradford Sr.84 years of age, passed away Tuesday December 27, 2022 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Sam was born August 25, 1938 in Canisteo the son of Clarence and Gladys (Gleason) Bradford. He grew up in the Canisteo and Hartsville areas and also lived in Wayland before settling in Dansville for the majority of his life. Sam and Josephine Roth wed in 1966 and together celebrated over 44 years of marriage prior to Josephine passing away in 2010. Sam worked as a mechanic for the Rochester Regional Transit for many years prior to retiring from there. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the Hemlock Sportsman Club. Throughout the years, Sam collected everything John Deere! Sam was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Josephine Bradford; his son Sam Bradford Jr.; his granddaughters, Rachel Huff and Amberjo Rader; his sisters Violet, Alberta, Loretta and a brother Clarence “Bud.” He is survived by his children, Kimberly Bradford of Dansville, Eric (Roxanne) Huff of Deltona, FL, Bradley (Lisa) Harbin of Roosevelt, UT and Tina (Daran) Summerton of Las Vegas, NV; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers Danny and Herman Bradford and his sisters, Clara Raub, Eloise Sanford and May Duvall. Sam’s family and friends may call Saturday December 31, 2022 from 11-2 at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. His funeral service will be at 2pm at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville.
