Obituary of Edward P. Miller Jr.

Wayland – Edward P. Miller Jr., 79 years of age, passed away Tuesday morning September 30th, 2015 at his home in Wayland. Ed was born June 5th, 1936 the son of Edward P. Sr. and Myrtle (McKenzie) Miller in Wayland. He grew up in Perkinsville and remained a life resident of the Perkinsville / Wayland areas. Ed was employed at a couple different companies throughout his life. He worked at The Gunlocke Company in Wayland for 20 years and he was a welder at Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in Dansville the majority of his life, retiring in 1996. His hobbies were many as he enjoyed his hanging baskets of geraniums, his patio tomatoes and years ago he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His passion though was riding motorcycles. Ed was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Hornell Motorcycle Club. Throughout the years, he also enjoyed travelling throughout the country and Ed was a member of the Dansville Legion. Ed and Barbara Evans were married October 23rd, 1954 and together they celebrated over 54 years of marriage prior to Barb passing away in 2008. Ed has enjoyed the company of Catherine Sessions for the past year and were engaged to be married. They both are thankful for the time they enjoyed together. Ed was pre-deceased by his parents; his wife, Barbara Miller; his siblings, Joseph, Arthur and Myrtle Miller. He is survived by his fiancée, Catherine Sessions of W. Henrietta; his children, Edward J. (Beth) Miller of Farmington, Karmen Miller (Angus Brown) of Scottsville, and Kelli (Oscar) Rodriquez of Swanee, GA; his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Tyler and Alexis; his sister, Caroline Miller of Hamlin and his brother William (Rosalee) Miller of Perkinsville; several nieces and nephews; and especially his dog Bandit. Ed’s funeral service will be at the convenience of his family and committal prayers and internment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Edward P. Ed and his family have been assisted by the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland, NY14572.
