Candace Brownell

Obituary of Candace K. Brownell

Wayland – Dansville – Candace “Candy” Brownell passed away at home with her husband and daughter by her side. Although she lost her battle with cancer, she didn’t give up without a fight. Candy and Dave Brownell were married August 18, 1995 at the Loon Lake Chapel and have celebrated over 27 years together. Candy had many joys in life. She lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed painting; mostly scenery with cardinals hidden in each picture to honor her father and brother. They loved to travel especially to their home in Labelle, FL. She and her daughter along with her granddaughter Olivia loved taking vacations together as well as day trips all over New York State. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She never missed a dance recital, football game, or soccer game. She was their biggest cheerleader in life. Although she loved all these things, her favorite pastime was watching ‘Alaska the Last Frontier!’ Candy was pre-deceased in life by her first husband, George Woodhams; her father, Dana Colegrove; and her brother, Steven Colegrove. She is survived by her loving husband, David Brownell; her daughter Cari (Chris) Furia; her stepsons, Eric (Tabitha) Brownell and Brett (Corinne) Brownell; her mother, Frances Colegrove; her grandchildren, Jacob Baker, Joshua Baker, Olivia Furia and Payton Brownell; her sister, Karen (Paul) Welytok; several nieces and nephews; and especially her dog Izzy. Candy’s wish of no funeral services at this time will be honored. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Contributions in memory of Candace “Candy” Brownell may be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Avenue, Wayland, NY 14572 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
