Obituary of Ruben Cora

Wayland – Ruben Cora III, 45 years of age, passed away early Wednesday evening October 7th, 2015 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Ruben was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on August 14th, 1970 the son of Ruben Jr. and Miriam (Gonzalez) Cora. He spent a year in Puerto Rico before moving to the New York City area for many years. Ruben also lived in Buffalo and Rochester, however for the past 20 years he has resided in Wayland at the Southview IRA and Larue IRA homes. Ruben loved to listen to music especially Latino music, and the louder the better. He had a good sense of humor, enjoyed the attention he received and was a very happy person; in fact his family and friends can’t recall the last time he cried. Ruben enjoyed socializing; being mischievous at times and he took pleasure in going out to eat. One of his greatest joys though was riding in a car. Anything that had wheels he enjoyed riding and was visibly upset when the ride was over! Ruben was a happy carefree person that will be missed by all his family and friends. Ruben is survived by his mother, Miriam Gonzalez of NJ; his father, Ruben Jr. (Yolanda Guzman) Cora of FL; his sister, Nicole (Jamie) Garcia of AZ; his grandmother, Paulita Cora of PR; his niece Amelia Grace Garcia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; along with his many family and friends within the DDSO organization. Ruben’s family and friends are invited to call Thursday from 4:00 – 5:30 at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. His funeral service will be at 5:30 Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Ruben Cora III’s memory may be made to the Larue House IRA, 105 Charles St., Wayland, NY 14572.
