Obituary of Kevin W. Sharp

Wayland – Kevin W. Sharp, 64 years of age, passed away early Saturday morning, July 29, 2023 at his home in Wayland, after a 15 month battle with cancer. Kevin was born August 16, 1958 in Blossburg, PA to Richard G. and Roxie L. (Houghtaling) Sharp and grew up in Mills, PA. Kevin married Cindy Palmatier on April 11, 1981 in Coudersport, PA and they have celebrated over 42 years together. Kevin and Cindy raised their family in Brookland, PA and moved to Wayland, NY in 2019 to remain close to their son and grandchildren. Kevin was employed at Morgan AM & T in Coudersport for almost 42 years, before retiring in December 2020. His hobbies were many. He worked with his son and grandson on restoring a 1989 Jeep, coached wrestling, coached and refereed soccer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a handyman around the house, a member of Gold Church in PA, and a Mason in Ulysses, PA. Kevin loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Kevin was pre-deceased by his parents Richard and Roxie Sharp, two brothers Michael and Tim Sharp. He is survived by his wife Cindy Sharp of Wayland, his children: Justin (Brandi) Sharp of IL, Philip (Jill) Sharp of Wayland, and Benjamin (Tari) Benz-Sharp of Troupsburg; his grandchildren: Kalynn, Corbin, Kaeleigh, Kaia, Elliott, and Connor; his siblings and their spouses: Patty (Clayton) Hurd, Jeanetta (Manuel) Hoppe, Richard Sharp, Sharon (Frank) Seeley, Melvin Sharp, Tina (Donald) Seeley, Noel Sharp, Randy Sharp, and Brian Sharp; along with several nieces and nephews. Kevin’s family and friends had a celebration of life with Kevin on June 17th, 2023.
