Whenever I think back over my years at good ole Cohocton Central School they always included Mrs. Tripp & Coach. I remember when Miss Ciocci came to be our music teacher & remember when Coach came to take the place of Coach Dunn. At first we were upset because Coach Dunn was our coach but as everyone knows Coach won us all over and we were blessed to have him as Coach. We all watched as Miss Ciocci became Mrs. Tripp. What a positive impact this couple had on all the students at CCS. Mrs. Tripp (& yes I still called her Mrs. Tripp even though she kept asking me to call her Virginia) became the Advisor for my class of 1965 which was so special to us. She helped with our play, No Boys Allowed, our prom and then she & Coach chaperoned our Senior trip to NYC (Worlds Fair was there). Even after graduation they remained in our lives attending special occasions. Our last class event was our 50th Class Reunion and they were with us to celebrate and share memories. So it is a circle of great memories always including Coach & Mrs. Tripp. Truly missed by many. Hugs and prayers to their sons who completed the Tripp Family.

The perfect time for Virginia to go home…she can lead the celebration of His birth just like she did for years here on earth. My family has many wonderful memories of band, color guard, Little Indians, chorus, booster club, days at the lake and the love that she showed for everyone. You may not see her for 10 years but she always remembered your name, your kids names and if you behaved in her classes. She was one of a kind and made Cohocton Central’s music department the best in the area. Blessed to have known her!

I will always remember her love of teaching music to her students. Square dancing in music class. The Christmas concerts. The amazing things she did with the marching band. Her expectations of her students to give 110% percent. We all loved her and hold so many wonderful memories. She will be so missed. A true legend that will never be replaced.

Virginia, we shared a birthday! as well as a love of music. Your encouragement led me to become a church organist. But it is your smile and enthusiasm for life that I will miss the most. Nancy

So sorry for your loss - she was a great music teacher all my years at Cohocton Central School. Remembering the musical, Davy's Star, in 1959, along with plenty of other times, both band and chorus.

Dear Mrs. Tripp,
I’ve been thinking of the Tripp family recently never thinking that I would receive news of your passing.
You will always remain a part of me as will Coach Tripp. Both of you were vital in the directions that I took at Cohocton Central and well beyond, right lto this present moment. The love of classical, jazz and most music forms has only enlarged with each passing year. In high school I went though many different musical instruments and never really found one to master. Chorus, however, was one of the sanctuaries that I found. Your belief in me was the motivation to keep singing throughout life. At Nazareth College I became a Bernadette, Bishop Kearney’s singers, it was a huge tribute to all of your previous teaching and guidance. I also look back, fondly, at all the plays that you directed and guided us though and that produced a love of the stage. I now have twin granddaughters that will enjoy the many arts of music and theater. Thank you for the multitude of gifts that you have passed on to all of us, your students, it will be our blessing and work to share the gifts we’ve received and pass them on with the grace and dignity with which they were given. Thank you for being one of the most valued teachers who touched my life.
Coach Tripp, thank you for teaching me and all of us to never give up and to stay strong in the game. Perseverance and persistence always pays off. Both of you will remain in my heart.
