Obituary of Carol Niven

Wayland – Carol A. (Weiand) Niven, 66 years of age, passed away Saturday November 21st, 2015 in Ft. Myers, Fla. Carol was born September 18th, 1949 in Dansville the daughter of William and Anna (Wolfanger) Weiand. She grew up in Wayland, graduated from Wayland Central School and remained a resident of Wayland for most of her life. She did reside in Geneseo for a couple of years and most recently Florida. Her employment career was mostly spent with the 3M Company in both Rochester and Honeoye. Carol and Bruce Niven were married December 24th, 1996 and together celebrated over 15 years together prior to Bruce passing away in 2012. Throughout the years Carol was an animal lover; ever increasing as the years went by with her favorite being horses. She loved to ride as often as she could. She also enjoyed collecting baseball cards and Carol was an avid New York Yankees fan. Being such a Yankees fan, she was very excited and proud of her opportunity to meet Don Mattingly. Carol was pre-deceased by her parents, William and Anna Weiand; and her husband, Bruce Niven. She is survived by her son, Robert R. Winkler of Cape Coral, FL and her daughter, Sara Incarnato of Wayland; her grandchildren, Sydney, William, Nicholas, Zachary and Danica; her sisters, Deborah (Terry) Finch of Wayland and Sandy Booth of Wayland; her nephews, Nick and Jan; and her niece, Anna. Carol’s family and friends may call Saturday December 5th from 1:00 – 4:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Her funeral service will take place at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00pm at the funeral home. Reverend Dennis Swart of the Springwater Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Memorial contributions in Carol A. Niven’s memory may be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd, Hornell, NY 14843.
