Obituary of Jeanne M. Bowers

Jeanne M. Feeney Bowers, 70 of Wayland passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home. She was born in Oswego, NY on May 17, 1945 the daughter of the late Joseph E. Feeney and Henrietta Collette Westermann. She resided in Fulton and was raised by her grandparents Alexander and Rebecca Collette. Jeanne married John Crawford Bowers on November 6, 1965 celebrating 50 years of marriage this year. Jeanne was a graduate of Dansville High School. She worked for the Village of Wayland for 23 years as Village Clerk retiring in 1995. During retirement she found great joy in traveling to her grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with her family. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Joseph W. Feeney; and her step-father Anthony Westermann. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, leaving behind to cherish her memory: her husband John C. Bowers; children: James (Kimberly) Bowers of Springwater, Michael (Cori) Bowers of Fairport, Michele Bowers (Michelle Moore) of Fairport, Joseph (Karen) Bowers of Liverpool; grandchildren: Dylan (fiancée Jacquelyn Draina) Kuhn, Andreanna Bowers, Ryan Bowers, Kaitlyn Bowers, Morgan Bryant, Hayden Bowers, Kendall Bowers; her nephew, Robert (Jodi) Feeney of Texas and several nieces and nephews from the Bowers side of the family. Her brothers and sisters in law: Shirley (David) Schmidt of Texas, Millicent Atkin of California, Katherine (James) Augustus of Missouri, Harriett Kimball of Jamesville and Thomas (Emily) Bowers of Wayland. Jeanne's family and friends may call from 2-4 pm on Saturday, December 12 at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples Street, Wayland.
