Obituary of Jeanne King

Wayland – Jeanne M. King, 70 years of age, entered into heaven from the Vincent House in Wayland on January 7th, 2016 after a long illness. Jeanne was born June 27th, 1945 in Dansville, the daughter of Charles and Elsie (McCollester) Kinney. Through her union with Ernest King four beautiful children were brought into the world, Charlie, Jackie, Brian and Andrew. Faith, family and friends were the bedrock of her life. She was the eldest in her family and Jeanne could always be counted on to mentor, support and love all of her 8 siblings. Even her career included helping others. Jeanne was a “nurse’s nurse.” She was a caregiver that was devoted to providing exceptional care to her patients until they were settled and comfortable. Her faith was also a treasured part of her life. Jeanne was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a valued associate of Sisters of Mercy. She also loved nature and all that the great outdoors offered. Jeanne was a caring and loving person and always put others first. She generously touched multitudes of friends over the years. Jeanne will always be loved and never forgotten. Jeanne was pre-deceased in life by her parents; and a son Andrew. She is survived by her children, Charles Sr., Jackie and Brian; her grandchildren, Charles Jr., Abigail, Ethan, Carsyn and Dylan; her siblings, Michael (Marilyn) Kinney, Janice (Dieter) Rellier, Marlene Moomaw, Anne (Lee) Rockers, Alan (Judy) Kinney, Kevin (Kathy) Kinney, Ron (Becky) Kinney and Dennis(Lisa) Kinney; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne’s family and friends may call Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Perkinsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home.
