Obituary of Anne E. (Schiavi) Stahl

Dansville / Avon – Anne E. (Schiavi) Stahl, 75 years of age, passed away early Saturday morning, February 20th, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Anne was born September 10th, 1940 in Bath the daughter of Edmund and Amelia (Azzi) Schiavi. Anne grew up in Cohocton and was a 1956 graduate of Cohocton Central School. Subsequent to high school, Anne attended and graduated from St. James School of Nursing in Hornell. She was a nurse for over 50 years worked at many different healthcare facilities. She retired approximately 10 years ago as a nurse at CASA in Dansville. Anne and Newton “Bud” Stahl were married October 9th, 1971 and together celebrated many years of marriage. Throughout the years, Anne resided in many different areas including Cohocton, New York City, Germany, Rochester; Avon for over 30 years, Dansville for a few years and most recently at the Livingston County Healthcare Facility at Murray Hill. Anne enjoyed playing Bingo, her jewelry collection, really enjoyed her grandchildren and had a tremendous affection for Elvis Presley. She loved his music and had many Elvis collectibles. Travelling to Graceland was a tremendous joy for Anne as it was a trip she never forgot. Anne was pre-deceased by her husband, Newton “Bud” Stahl; her brothers, Edward and Julius Schiavi and a sister, Amelia Edmond. She is survived by her children, Amy Schiavi (Kelly Mychalishyn) of Dansville, Rita (Brandon) Morrow of Dansville and Edward Stahl of Batavia; her grandchildren, Brynn, Joshua, Andrew, Anthony; her siblings, Dorothy Schiavi of Dansville, Rita (Arthur) Christensen of CO; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a couple great-greats. Anne's family and friends may call Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A prayer service will be offered at 10:15am Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anne at 11:00am Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, Dansville. Internment and committal prayers will take place at the Bath Veterans National Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
