Obituary of Homer C. Fogle
Springwater - Homer C. Fogle, 95 years of age, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, July 12th, 2016 at his home.
Homer was born December 22, 1920 in Springwater the son of Clyde and Lottie (Mastin) Fogle. He resided in Dansville for a couple of years, however most all of his life he was a resident of the Springwater area. Homer and Arlene Brokaw were married July 18th, 1941 in Hemlock. Arlene pre-deceased Homer in April of 2005. Homer’s employment spanned a few different areas throughout his life. He worked for Gunlocke, Foster Wheeler and for over 22 years, he was employed with the city of Rochester Water Department as the supervisor of the gatehouse, retiring in 1978.
Homer served his country in the United States Army during World War II from October 11, 1944 until his honorable discharge December 22, 1946. During his tenure, Homer fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Homer was a member of the Springwater American Legion, the Metropolitan Car Club, the Model T Club, and the VW Club, a charter member of the NYS Covered Bridge Society and a member of the Wine Country Cruisers.
Homer was pre-deceased by his parents, Clyde and Lottie Fogle; his wife, Arlene Fogle; a great-grandson, Jonathan Michielsen; and his brother, Don Fogle. He is survived by his son Todd Fogle of Gainesville, Fla; his daughter, Jill (Bob) Michielsen of Morristown, TN; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and several great-grandchildren.
Homer’s services will be private and at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions in Homer C. Fogle’s memory may be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave., Wayland, NY 14572.
