Obituary of Gloria J. Blake

Wayland / Dansville - Gloria J. Blake, 78 years of age passed away early Sunday morning July 24th, 2016 at The Hurlbut Nursing Home in Rochester where she has reside the past few years. Gloria was born March 21, 1938 in Rochester the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Ingole) McKenna. Throughout the years, Gloria resided in Rochester, Springwater, and the Dansville / Wayland areas. Gloria and Daniel Blake were married May 4th, 1957 and together have celebrated over 59 years of marriage. Gloria was a housewife and homemaker for her family. Her hobbies were many as she enjoyed reading, travelling, animals and especially buying and selling things at local flea markets. Gloria was pre-deceased by her parents, Charles and Myrtle McKenna; a granddaughter, Amanda Carey; and sons-in-law James Palmer and David Shannon. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Blake of Rochester; her daughters, Edith Blake of Hornell, Louise Weidman of Webster, Patricia Barber of Wayland, Joan Shannon of Troy, NC, Jean Palmer of S. Dansville and Sue Demler of NC; along with 3 generations of grandchildren. Gloria’s family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Sunday at 11:00am at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Interment will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater.
