My husband and I first met your Dad at his shop, us buying potatoes and two chairs, he patiently taking the time to give us hints and help about how to fix them & make them usable. We were newly married at the time with not much to spend that day but that didn't matter to him - he was still so kind and helpful.
Over the years we had some great discussions with him wherever our paths happened to cross and we enjoyed (and now treasure) the fascinating stories he shared with us. The last chance we had to talk with him was at the veg stand & I can see his grin in my mind, clear as day....
A sharp and funny wit, born story teller and local historian, he and his kindness will be without doubt, greatly missed.
Our thoughts are with you all.

My heart goes out to the Saxton family. We lived up across from Mr& Mrs Saxton for years. My children grew up being excited to wave at them when we drove by and enjoyed being greeted with warm words and smiles when we walked by. Our dog even visited but usually to torment the barn cats, Mr. Saxton would let me know she was in the barn again and I would go get her. He was never angry or upset but acted happy to see us when we would go get her. The kids ALWAYS wanted to go to the fruit stand and hoped he was there to say hi! We have many fond memories and always will. Fly high Mr. Saxton!! Thank you for being our favorite neighbor!

I am so sorry for your loss. Nate and Elissa spoke often of "grandpa" with love. Although I know he will be missed immensely, we can be thankful he is with our Lord and Savior. God bless you, I am praying for the family.
